With over 20 years of experience, of which 16 years in the offshore sector, João currently serves as the Head of Fabrication for Principle Power. His responsibilities include managing a multidisciplinary team working on the WindFloat® fabrication and construction.
João has sound knowledge of ship and offshore engineering design, covering all aspects of its valuechain, from construction and fabrication to O&M. His experience is proven by the company’s accomplishments related to the successful decommissioning of the WindFloat Atlantic and the Kincardine Wind Farm Projects, on behalf of the Owner or under an EPCI JV. He also supported Principle Power with its industrialization program, which included Supply Chain Engagement activities and several tasks related to schedule & cost reduction of the floating offshore wind industry.
Prior to joining Principle Power, João served as Project Manager and Senior Engineer for GustoMSC, as Engineer for DNV Energy in Aberdeen, Project Manager for Navalrocha Repair Shipyard, and Assistant Researcher at Unit of Marine Technology and Engineering of IST - Technical University of Lisbon. He is
also a member of several industry associations, such as SNAME, Royal Institution of Naval Architects, the Society of Allied Weight Engineers, and Global Wind Organization.
João holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering by IST – Technical University of Lisbon.
