José Ferrari Careto has a degree in Economics from the Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon.
He is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of E-REDES, after having assumed the functions of Director of the Digital Global Unit, he was responsible for the EDP Group's digital transformation and IT program.
Previously, at EDP, he was responsible for the Corporate Marketing and Customer Department, and Administrator of several business units.
He developed most of his professional career in the Telecommunications sector, where he was director and director of several companies – Optimus, Novis, Sonae Redes de Dados, Oni and Maxitel – and Administrator of the national regulator – ANACOM.
He was Vice-President of APDC (Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications), having started his career at CTT (Correios de Portugal).
