Javier Revuelta is an Electrical Engineer from Comillas University in Madrid, and MBA graduate from INSEAD Business School in Singapore and Fontainebleau (France).

He has broad experience in the management and regulation of power systems, wholesale markets and renewable energies. He worked for 8 years in the Spanish Transmission System Operator, Red Eléctrica de España (REE) and its international consultancy division REI, where he specialized in system operation and planning, wholesale markets and software development.

After five years of international consulting, he became responsible for forecasting activities, system modeling and system adequacy within the System Planning department. He led national and international projects with impact on RES objectives, and has been Spanish representative for MEDELEC and MEDGRID associations.

He was deeply involved in ENTSO-E’s Ten Year Network Development Plan 2012, collaborating with RTE (France) and REN (Portugal), as well as with the MIBEL system planning.

Javier has published over 20 articles or presentations in international conferences or magazines, including IEEE Xplore. 

He joined Pöyry Management Consulting in 2013 in its Oxford office. He is now Principal, responsible for Electricity projects in Madrid, including energy regulation, networks, market modelling, finance and valuations and transactions due diligence.
