Jorge Costa was born in Lisbon in 1975.
Graduated in journalism from the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences, he collaborated in several journalistic publications, worked as a press officer and was responsible for the communication of Bloco de Esquerda (BE).
He is vice-president of BE parliamentary group, elected by the Lisbon circle in October 4, 2015. He is a member of the parliamentary committees on Environment and Economy.
He was elected as rapporteur of the Commission of Inquiry for the Payment of Excessive Income to Producers of Electricity.
A PSR militant since the age of 15, he began his political activity in the anti-PGA movement and in the fight against the first Gulf War in 1991. Still in the student movement, he opposed the increase of tuition fees by PSD and PS governments.
He has been a member of the BE National Bureau since the founding of the party and is a member of its Political Commission.
