With his wide-ranging experience in various business lines of the energy sector and his entrepreneur spirit, Bernardo steers Smartenergy´s strategic thinking and foresight.

Bernardo started his activity in the energy sector at Martifer Solar in 2010 and became a member of the executive team in 2014. After the acquisition of Martifer Solar by Voltalia in 2016, Bernardo remained on the Executive Commission of the company for another two years, where he was responsible for solar PV equipment trading and distribution on a global level, building on his prior management positions in procurement, logistics, distribution and EPC negotiation. 

In articulation with all business lines, he negotiated the acquisition of more than 500 MW of solar PV components and also accumulated hands-on experience by closing EPC contracts and by negotiating power purchase agreements amounting.

Bernardo is a physics engineer and holds a MSc in Business and Engineering, specializing in business innovation. He also holds a Masters in bio-ethics.

Passionate for innovation, he is also an invited external expert for several Venture Capital firms in the energy field.
