Hugo Costa holds a degree in Management from the University of Oporto.

He started his career in 1999 in Somague Group, initially at the financial department of CVC – Construções de Cabo Verde, then at the Planning and Control department of Somague Engenharia. In 2001 he was invited to manage the Financial Department of Somague’s energy holding – Finerge –, being responsible for the financing of its cogeneration and wind portfolio.

In 2007 he joined ENEOP2 project as CFO and representative of Finerge/Endesa (later on, EnelGreen Power), focused in the development, construction, operation and financing of a portfolio of more than 1300 MW. He was also Director at APREN between 2012 and 2015, on behalf of ENEOP2.

At EDP Renováveis since 2015, initially as Head of Finance for Portugal, he is currently the Global Finance Director for Offshore Wind as well as the Deputy Country Manager of EDPR in Portugal.
